Leadership

For the Cub Issue, I was assigned the role of social media manager. At first, I wasn't expecting to be given many tasks, because we were mainly focused on writing stories for the Cub Issue. However, through this role, I learned to navigate a large social media platform, curate posts, and communicate effectively. With that, I was able to use these skills to teach my class how to post on the Bark's Instagram through presentations. Taking on this role showed me how important and beneficial it is to step out of your comfort zone and take on tasks you aren't familiar with.

Not only have I worked in leadership positions inside of school, but I have also taken on and contributed to leadership roles outside of school. This year, I was a part of my competitive dance studio's leadership team, where we met monthly to discuss schedule changes, bonding events, guest classes, etc. This gave me insight into the planning that goes into running a large business, or, similarly, a school newspaper, both of which require communication, planning, and dedication.
